movie questions

“Kids can be cruel”

I think this statement can be both true and false. I have seen kids being bullies but nothing like the TV portrays them. They don’t give kids swirly’s, or put them in trash cans but rather they verbally abuse kids. And when they do it can be mean but most of the time it is just friendly hazing. I do think some people can’t take a joke as well as others and they take offense to a lot of things.

On the other hand kids can be really nice also. Most kids at our school will step in if they see someone being bullied and we have people to help with those situations. And they teachers are really strict and will usually see it when it happens and stop it. And there are a lot of kids that volunteer to tutor and help kids in need so not all kids are bad.

“what is the point to your life?”

I would say the purpose in my life is to help and protect people. That’s all I have ever wanted to do even from a really young age I wanted to be a solider. And that feeling has only gotten stronger over the years and that is the path I am going to take in the future. My grandfather and uncle were both in the military and my grandpa is the main reason that I want to be in the military.

1)      If you were to identify the most important quality in a friend what would it be?

·         I would say that the most important quality in a friend would be loyalty.

2)      If you could have more time with a person who would it be?

·         I would spend more time with my grandpa. He is the reason that I want to be in the military and when he was still around he would always give me life lessons, and make me hold doors open for everybody. I miss him a lot.

3)      If you had to name the most difficult thing about being a teenager what would it be?

·         I think the most difficult thing about being a teenager is the fact we have no power on what we do and we are always being told what to do.

4)      If you had to be addicted to one thing what would it be?

·         I would want to be addicted to working out and running.

picture poem

They are there from sunrise

To sunset from the time you rise

To the time you retire

No one pays much attention

While they stand at it

Rain, snow, hail, and even sleet

They stay marching in honor of all who served

They don’t get holidays

They don’t get vacations

All they get is to protect the greatest country on earth

And they don’t get much recognition

But it is worth every second of every day

To know you saved millions of lives at the end of the day

But most people don’t realize it

While you’re asleep

They are wide awake making sure you get a good night sleep

So good night and sleep tight

Someone is watching over you

Food, Food, and More Food

Food, Food, and More Food

One of my fondest food memories is with my grandpa. Every time my grandparents would come to visit us my grandpa and I would go to Krispy Kreme and get doughnuts every morning for everybody. After we returned from the driving around we would both sit down and  watch football while eating and he would sit there drinking coffee while I was next to him drinking chocolate milk. He would then give me lectures and tell me stories.

Another food memory that I have from my grandpa is one of us getting in trouble on a daily basis. My grandpa and I both loved food and we always seemed to be eating. And on occasions we would steal from the kitchen when my mom and grandma was cooking diner. But it never failed for us to get in trouble since according to my grandma we were “spoiling our appetites”. But the thing that we always got yelled at the most for was when we would come back from the store with McDonalds when we were set to eat diner in an hour. But my grandpa would always make a good excuse up to calm my grandma down.

I’ve really never been a picky eater there only a few foods that I don’t like, like mushrooms, mustard, olives, and that’s pretty much it, oh and coffee. But I’m always trying new things and I rarely turn food down. When I went to Costa Rica I tried all kinds of different foods that I couldn’t get at home in the states and almost everything that I tried I enjoyed plus all of the fresh fruit that I ate was amazing I wish that I could be back there right now just to get some of the fruit.

movie survey

·         It is really hard for me to pick a single movie that I like but I like older movies like Mad Max, the Goonies, James Bond, and the Last Castle. I just really like the old feeling of the movies and sometimes the cheesiness of them.

·         I don’t really care for drama and romantic movies because they lack action and they are slow paced.

·         I usually see new movies maybe once a month at Campbell 16.

·         It really doesn’t matter where I am when watching a movie as long as it’s quite and I have popcorn and a drink.

·         What I klearned from this survey is that I am aggressive and open to new experiences and that I am conscious of what people think of me. The movies I would want to watch are all action war movies.

·         If my life were to be made into a movie it would be depressing and auctioned packed also at times but the main parts would be slow and boring.

dan in real life

·         What are three tips you would give to parents of teenagers.

o   I would tell them that the more you tell them they can’t do something the more they will want to do it so don’t make a big deal out of the little things. Also you need to let them make their own mistakes and don’t try to control every aspect of their lives. Then last of all give them space all they want is to be away from you and if you try to keep them next to you they are going to run.

·         Can you know after three days that you love someone?

o   Yes and no. I believe that you can fall in love after three days but it is premature and you are bound to get hurt if the other person doesn’t feel the same way. But I do believe in love at first sight just not the belief that it will be forever.

·         Where was your best hiding spot as a kid?

o   My best hiding spot as a kid was at my old house in my closet, I had some shelves high up that I could get onto and no one could see me. I also had a hiding spot in my attic but I almost fell through the ceiling so I never hid there again.

·         Describe your perfect day.

o   My perfect day would start with me sleeping in until 10:00 then I would go sky diving then bungee jumping I would the go to Fiji for an afternoon of swimming then I would go to Paris to eat lunch after lunch I would go scuba diving in Australia then I would learn to fly and end the day eating diner in my own home.

·         Are you a good bowler?

o   I like to think I am but I’m a long way away from being a professional.

You could say that I am a food fanatic. It has been one of my passions to cook and just explore the taste of the world. From an early age I always loved to add my own spin on food, I always try new things and there are only for foods that I won’t eat. When I went to Costa Rica with my family I had to try every food I could find. I tried scorpions, fried bananas, a mash of all kinds of foods put into one dish of some kind but there wasn’t anything I did not like. If I could make a living off of eating food I would but eating doesn’t pay very well.  It’s a real shame because I think that I would make a really good critic.

An adventure awaits.

An adventure awaits.
Once there was a boy named Timmy, Timmy liked to wonder around the woods all by himself. One day he decided that he was going to go further into the woods than he had ever done before. So he packed a backpack with supplies just in case he got hungry or cold.
http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/cartoon-boy-running-illustration-31319071.jpg
So Timmy took of around 11:00 that morning and just started to walk. After about an hour and he came to a big cliff with a lake below it, so Timmy hurried down the cliff to the lake. After he got down off the cliff to the lake he sat down and enjoyed the beautiful view. And once he looked around he noticed a cave in the side of the local mountain.

So Timmy set off for the cave and once he got there he was in awe. It was a beautiful overgrown cave with a water fall. And tall trees and ivy almost hide the cave from the world. As he pulls back the ivy he sees something shinny inside of the cave. he got excited and ripped the ivy down and in front of him was piles of gold silver and money left behind by someone long ago
. http://mindmillion.com/images/money/01-large-cartoon-cash.gif
Timmy immediately ran and jumped into the mounds of money and started to think of ways to spend it. But once he got to thinking of buying anything he wanted he found out that it wouldn’t be that easy and decided to see what his friends would think. But then he realized he would have to share it with them so he would tell no one. But later that night his parents asked what he did all day and he told them about the lake and the cave and the money but they didn’t believe him. So the next day he took them to the cave and sure enough the money was there and his parents were dumb founded and they lived happily ever after.

childhood

The one memory that really sticks out in my head from my child hood is always with my grandpa. I used to see him every weekend and we always had fun, but we always would get in trouble from my mom and grandma. But the one memory that sticks out the most is at their house they had a carpet sled that my grandpa would pull me and my sister around in. and whenever I wanted to play or do anything my grandpa wouldn’t hesitate to play with me. And he would always take me to krispy kreme even though we weren’t supposed to. The most important person in my life when I was growing was my grandpa. He was a ups driver and in the National Guard. He is the main reason that I want to be in the military. He always taught me how to be a respectful gentlemen and how to treat woman. He always gave me lessons on how to fix things around the house and even tell me stories on how he learned all this stuff. And when he got deployed to Afghanistan he would send back all kinds of souvenirs and photos. I miss him so much and I know he would be proud of how I have turned out. The cartoon that was the most memorable for me growing up was either the Simpsons or Tom and Jerry. I have seen every episode of both and I wouldn’t hesitate to watch them all again. I would say the thing that made me like these shows were just the blunt comedies in them. If I could know something as a kid that I know now it would, life sucks enjoy the little things. Because I was in a huge rush as a kid to grow up and I let it just fly by so I could gain a little bit of freedom but a lot more responsibility.

Staring at the teddy bear…

Staring at the teddy bear, I would have never imagined that I would have been here, in this wet dark suffocating cellar. I don’t know how long it’s been since I was on the streets with my girlfriend going to a haunted house when all of a sudden everything was black. That’s when I realized she wasn’t there and started to yell for her calling her name as loud as possible but there was no response only silence and the muffled echo of her name. I started to look at my surroundings a little bit more, that’s when I realized there was a creepy teddy bear sitting on a shelf there was a rusty old sink on the wall I tried to turn it on but the handles were rusted in place. I moved on to a little tool bench that had a few tools laying on it I thought I might be able to use them, then I realized there was a little closet in here so I went into it and found nothing there wasn’t anything in it besides a piece of paper. I then moved towards a door that seems like my way out and as I passed under the archway I got a huge shock to my leg and I couldn’t move finally it subsided and I could back away from the door. I quickly pulled my pant leg up and there is an ankle bracelet on me and attached to it is a tazer. I cannot believe I didn’t notice it earlier but now my leg feels like I’ve been stabbed. “So I’m not going over there anymore” I said out loud which startled me because it was the first sound I had heard since I woke up.

Since I couldn’t get close to the door I set about searching the rest of the cellar for anything I could use.  In one of the corners was and old bed with a paper thin mattress and a wool blanket, in the adjacent corner of the room there was an old crate that looked as if it had been there since the 80s. Then I realized I hadn’t checked my pockets. In one pocket I had my car keys and pocket knife; in the other pocket I had a phone and a lighter. I quickly got the phone and dialed 911 but there was no service and I couldn’t call anybody. I then thought I could light the mattress on fire so somebody would come but decided against it since it might be and abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. So I just sat down on the bed and tried to think, but the pain in my leg seemed to get worse and I couldn’t focus. I paced around for what seemed like days. I then started to hear a very annoying beep and looked around and didn’t see anything electrical. The beep continued and I stared to walk around the room that’s when I passed by the teddy bear and heard it. Instead of button eyes, it had camera eyes. Starring at the teddy bear I just snapped how someone could do this to another person was just insane. Lock them up and just forget about them, so I grabbed the teddy bear and ripped the head of, took the cameras and smashed them. Panting with anger I made my way over to the tool bench and grabbed for the hammer and screw driver. I started to go to town on the ankle bracelet, I could feel it getting looser and looser and it finally broke loose and I ran for the door but it was locked, I took the hammer and broke in the lock and ran through the door.

As I made my way through the thresh hold there was at least a dozen more doors just like mine. And by each door was a little monitor with live feed from inside the room. And in every single room there was another person just like me freaked out. And in the furthest door from mine was my girlfriend laying down on her bed just laying there I quickly open the door to get her, run to the bed and when I get there I just freeze I couldn’t move just stood there. Her face was gone and I just stood there she wasn’t breathing or moving and I heard something coming from the hall and I ran to see what it was with hammer in hand. And the creepiest looking man I have ever seen was in my room with a machete and I ran down the hall and closed the door behind him found a chair and set it against the door to keep him in there and opened all of the doors. But everybody else was dead or not conscious so I took off for the stairs and as soon as I got to them the man broke through the door and started after me. I ran as fast as possible but my leg, still hurting from the shock I received earlier was slowing me down. I got up stairs and made a hard left for the door and as soon as I got outside I was shocked.

I thought that I was only in there for a few hours or a day or two. But when I was grabbed it was summer now it was the middle of winter. I turned to get I good look at the place before I ran and that’s when the big guy barreled out of the building. And right as he did I took off, the weird thing was there was no one around and the big guy was gaining on me. We ended up going through a park and I thought I might lose him on the ice so I ran to a nearby pond and the ice would barely hold me. I was about half way across the pond when I heard a crack I turned and the guy had broke through the ice and was having trouble swimming then he just disappeared.

The best costume I have ever worn was a gillie suit. I was dressed as a sniper and I would squat down on the side of the side walk and when people walked by I would scare them. It was all fun until I made a little boy cry because I had scared him. I felt so bad that I gave him a whole bag of candy. But then I scared someone I knew so bad that they lashed out at me and punched me in the throat.

While trick or treating, my friends and I decided to explore a dark street that we had never seen before so we headed down the long foggy street. And as soon as we did it was almost like we were transported to another world. The trees covered with cob-webs and the sounds of far off screeches echoed down the street.

poem

Even if the sky is falling down
I put you high up in the sky
Safe and sound
And now, you're not coming down
Hold your ground
In the torn up town, no post code envy
We jumped, never asking why
In a tidal wave of mystery
Feeling my way through the darkness
And I'm not proud of my address

ask a teacher

What music or songs reminds you of your childhood?

My parents always listened to old, classic country music like Johnny cash when I was a kid so I know all those songs.

Who is your favorite singer or group or song and why?

I really love a very electric variety of music… not sure I have one single favorite.

What music reminds you of someone you love? Your child? Spouse? Parents?

“Jesus Loves Me” reminds me of my daughter because it was the first song she learned.

Do you go to concerts? Which are memorable to you?

My favorite concert was U2, in Las Vegas sometime in the early 1990’s.

What radio stations do you normally listen to in your car? Do you sing along?

Sirius “coffee shop” is my fave. It’s like acoustic cover songs by various artists… I always love to sing along!!

Which music or artist was “controversial” or “offensive” to some when you were growing up? Is any music offensive to you?

Some rap music could have been considered offensive but I’m not easily offended, so not so much for me.

^^^^^^^^Mrs. Constantine

Which music or artist do you really dislike or refuse to listen to?

All country because all they sing about Is “ their truck broke down then my dog died then my girl left me”-Mrs. Hopke

The way music makes me feel

The way music makes me feel

1)      When I listen to music it gives me a kind of warm feeling inside like the one you get from doing a charitable the and seeing the reaction on the face of the person you help. There really anything else like music that takes you from grumpy to delighted, in a short period of time.

2)      One of my all time favorite songs is by the Soggy Bottom Boys “man of constant sorrows”. I like the way it sounds it’s a kind of blues country and bluegrass song which I like all three of those and it combines them into one song. The first time I heard this song was in the movie “oh brother where art thou” which is also one of my favorite movies of all time.

3)      My taste in music has changed a lot throughout the years of my life. I used to not care what kind of music I listened to, but now it is completely different I always want to control the music I listen to so I never listen to the radio because I can’t pick the kind of music and songs playing.

4)      Without music I feel like my life would be the same but with very small differences. Like I would never go to dances because it would just be dancing by yourself and that’s not very much fun you need a type of beat for it to be enjoyable. So dances and long car rides would be the worst without music.

5)      My friends sometimes listen to the same music as me but not all the time. They mainly like rap and all that but I’m more of a country and blue grass kind of person. I don’t think this means anything negative it just means that we don’t view music the same.

I see nothing but trees
Forrest and a volcano
But now there are charred remains
I always thought it couldn't happen

fear

It was a strange place in the woods.
The air was stagnant humid and it had the smell of routing animal
He ran stumbling on weeds that came up and grabbed at him as if they wanted him to stay forever
But he powered through constantly scanning
Scanning for the evil's of the forest that are trying to keep him there.
He ran until he got to a cliff scared and bruised and nowhere to go turned to fight
Then with a mighty howl the forest and its spirits sent forth its might
For standing in front of the boy a mighty wolf
Shaking the boy stood up and started running at the wolf all of a sudden with no fear
And since he was no longer afraid the forest had no power any more over him
The wolf ran off defeated and the boy stood there panting but not harmed
For fear is our true enemy it has the power to control our every action that we make and will haunt us Forever

rail road car

The year is 2025 and its been 10 years since the bombs went off and there wasn't a soul in sight. The world has become a barren waste land of death and disease. The smell of sulfur and death linger and no one is around to smell it, nothing can be seen any more anymore buildings fallen and destroyed people who were outside when everything went down got vaporized shadows burned into walls. houses moved from their foundations and tossed around like nothing and trains and rail cars moved like toys. Rusting away just sitting there nothing to do but wait, wait for the world to change back to the way it was. No fighting no conflicts or power races to see who could kill more effective. just peace, quite and bliss. But there is no one to fix things this time everyone is gone, people who thought they could go underground thought wrong. there is no protection that can stop a power such as this one. so rail cars houses fortresses of the rich nothing was safe from anything it just goes to show you how vulnerable we as a species, as a planet really are.

flowers

As I walk down the long white corridor to the waiting room I can’t imagine what’s going on I was 9 at the time and I really couldn’t wrap my head around what was going on. My grandpa had just had a seizure and was in the hospital and we were there to visit him. At the time he seemed perfectly healthy after it had happened. But after they released him from the hospital on the way home he had another one. This was the second one in 2 weeks so this time the doctors did more test and they came back bad. He had spent 4 years in Iraq and Afghanistan and had received a head injury not very big at the time. But now he had fluid in the brain and it wasn’t looking very good. I went up every weekend to Columbia too see him and I never once left his side I would sleep eat buy him. Honestly I can still perfectly imagine each of the hospital rooms he was in and every waiting room I slept in. and the one thing that all of the rooms and waiting rooms had where pictures of flowers. To this day I can’t stand being in waiting rooms just because they remind me of my grandpa and his battle that went on for a year. He was more of a big brother getting in trouble with me, causing mayhem, and just having fun. I will always miss him and I wish he was still here.

sleep

Sleep it sounds like a simple concept and very easy to do. However it can and usually is the single most difficult thing you will do on a regular base. It can be difficult for many reasons and if you try to fix it usually leads to more and more problems.  You move your head one way it becomes uncomfortable for the rest of your body. So you move around for a while trying to get comfortable the pillow gets to hot so you flip it but now you’re not in the same position so you move and wiggle yourself till you are. And by now it’s probably already midnight then the worst thing that could happen, does. You start to think! And that’s when you get into trouble because now you can’t stop yourself you’re like a runaway train barreling into a disaster. Because when you think your mind can get to the most random stuff and you can’t stop it. You just have to strap yourself in and pray it will get over quick.

                                                                Disappointing sleep

what my future holds for me

In the presentation Monday I liked the fact that The Art Institute had many options on what I could do and the fact that no matter which way I decide to go in there program I’m pretty much guaranteed a job later on. I do have a question on the average pay scale for the jobs that there students get after school.

In a year from now I expect to be right where I am now in school working all the time and playing sports. But in five years I plan on finishing up college through a ROTC program and completing most of my training to become a officer in the US Army. In ten years I see myself still in the military but in the army rangers and serving my country to the best of my ability. In 50 years I see me being retired from the military in a cabin in the middle of the woods secluded fishing and hunting.  http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ0GhcCGByMVTEm77ivn7q3QiUKsucEFn7uuoKjZU4HcqoYm9k2:www.hiresimg.com/images/15772-wallpaper-download-military-collection-hd-wallpapers-2-military.jpg

another place another time

ANOTHER PLACE, ANOTHER TIME
The date is October 26 1848, the place, somewhere in the Amazon.  Kyle is an Ex-Army Ranger and Floyd is what some people would call a treasure hunter. They were searching for a lost tomb with more gold than the average person could fathom.  They started in Manaus, Brazil on the edge of the Amazon. They stated from the since it was only a couple hundred miles from their final destination. They headed out with 10 men and two mules they weren’t planning on removing the gold until they have the place secured, that’s why they were heavily armed was to protect their gold. The first day the only managed 25 miles because of how thick the jungle was in this region. They made camp in the ruins of a temple long forgotten by the people who built it. Kyle would take the first watch even though no one was following them (yet) they didn’t want to take any chances. The next morning everybody well rested and having had a good meal they headed back out.
After about 15 miles they came to a river crossing, but the water was moving faster than normal. But Kyle insisted that it would be all good and there wasn’t anything to worry about. So they loaded everything onto a raft and started across. About half way across they noticed the raft was straining under the weight of the gear and men. They tried to hurry up and to get rid of weight they jumped off and held on to the raft. And right has the front of the raft hit the shore it split in two. The men trudged out of the cold river soaked from head to toe, at that time Floyd who stayed on the raft to steer said “that was exciting”, and at that time everyone just looked at him. They started to move again and after another 60 miles they stopped for the night.
When they woke up the next morning they saw that both of their mules were dead. This was a disaster because they didn’t want to have to carry all of the gear the last 20 miles but the had no choice. They headed out for the last time. After about 12 hours they came to where they thought the tomb was. But there was a problem, there was nothing around. Everyone started o yell at each other, everyone was exhausted and there was nothing for them. Kyle turned to everyone and yelled
